When your cargo is too large, too heavy, or non-standard for regular container shipping—or when containerisation isn’t viable or economical—Trueways Logistics offers a robust Break-Bulk / Container Movement solution to handle such specialized transport needs.
Break-bulk refers to cargo that is not containerised, often too big, overweight, or otherwise unsuitable for standard containers. These goods are shipped as individual pieces—crates, pallets, machinery, steel sections, pipe segments, large industrial parts, etc.—that are handled directly rather than being packed into a full container. Container movement refers to transportation of containers including FCL/LCL, or when oversized or oddly shaped cargo must be moved via open-top, flat-rack, or other special container types.
Specialised Handling & Equipment
Use of flat racks, open-top containers, specialized trailers or chassis for non-containerised loads, as well as cranes, spreader bars, slings, heavy lifts where needed.
Flexible Container Options
For cargo that can go in containers but requires special types (flat racks, open tops) or partial/full container loads, Trueways offers solutions that cover LCL/FCL, container stuffing/un-stuffing, handling out-of-gauge (OOG) items.
Consolidation & Deconsolidation
Where part of the cargo shares shipping route or destination with others, we consolidate to save cost; at destination, we deconsolidate to final delivery.
Customs, Permits & Regulatory Compliance
Because break-bulk or special container movement often requires additional documentation, Trueways ensures proper permits, customs approvals, weighing & measurement certifications, handling of hazardous items (if any), and regulatory clearances are managed end-to-end.
Route & Transport Planning
Survey of ship ports, docks, roads, lifting points; ensuring that cargo size and weight are permissible on roads, through tunnels/under bridges, and at loading/unloading terminals; planning for special transport legs if required.
Cargo Protection & Secure Transit
Secure packing, weather-proofing (tarps, covers), securing of loads to prevent shifting, use of appropriate cushioning or crating, protection during loading/unloading, and tracking/monitoring whilst in transit.
Timely Handling & Logistics Coordination
Coordinated scheduling to reduce waiting times at ports or terminals, efficient loading/unloading, and integration of multimodal transport where needed (road-sea-road or road-rail).
Flexibility for non-standard cargo: Allows you to ship items that cannot fit into standard containers or pallets.
Cost-efficiency: Avoid paying for extra container volume/space you don’t need; share container or vessel space where possible.
Broader reach: Enables transport into ports or destinations where container service is limited or not suitable for your cargo type.
Better handling of heavy / oversized / sensitive goods: Mitigates the risk of damage from improper packing, handling, or transit.
Regulatory and customs reliability: Managing paperwork, permits, and compliance reduces delays, penalties, or rejections.
